About me

Kia ora,
My name is Hannah Bakuwel and I am a Yr 12 student at Waiheke High School. I play classical violin and am a member of the Auckland Youth Orchestra. I also enjoy sailing and martial arts.

I am passionate about astrophysics and astronomy and I intend to study astronomy and physics at University. My school has given me the opportunity to go on a trip to the U.S. with the C.A.S.E. Senior Space School program in collaboration with NASA for an intense, hands-on two week program to learn all about NASA's Space Program. You can read about the programme by clicking here.

Currently, I am busy raising money to be able to go on this once-in-a-lifetime trip. Any way you could contribute, such as attending my fundraising events or donating to my Give a Little page, would be greatly appreciated and help me to achieve my greatest dreams.

EVENTS

My first fundraising event on Saturday 24 February 2024 at the Waiheke Musical Museum was a great success. The Waiheke Musical Museum generously hosted a concert for me to raise funds. I was joined by Waiheke's own Rosemary Adler (below - Piano), together with Sasha and Natarani Witten-Hannah (classical guitar and cello) and their children Sophia (violin) and Theo (cello). We played a range of classical music and one or two more modern pieces for a full house.

I am very grateful for the amazing support of our friends who donated their time and their musical skills.
